THE WILBUR MAY MUSEUM
Wilbur May was a true renaissance man. He was an adventurer, a rancher, an artist, a pilot, world traveler, businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist. His legacy can be seen all throughout Northern Nevada, and is most appreciated in the museum built after him.
The Pieces below are a sample of the extensive renovation that took place between 2009 and 2010, and include biographical boards, two six-foot tall Africa-Shaped collages, and a plethora of diorama labels. They walk visitors through Wilbur's story and achievements, while also highlighting the value of many cultures around the world, as well as endangered species, and many interesting facts.
